Hi @vj271,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The HP ENVY 6020e All-in-One Printer does not automatically adjust for cardstock or thicker media. While it supports a variety of paper types, including photo paper and brochure paper, printing on cardstock requires manual adjustments and may not be officially supported depending on the thickness.

1. Check Supported Paper Types

According to HP’s specifications, the ENVY 6020e supports:

  • Plain paper
  • HP photo paper
  • HP matte brochure or professional paper
  • HP glossy brochure or professional paper

Cardstock is not listed as a supported media type, especially if it's thicker than 200 gsm.

2. Manually Adjust Paper Settings

If you're using thinner card stock (e.g., 160–200 gsm), you can try:

  • Loading only 1–2 sheets at a time.
  • Setting the paper type manually in the HP Smart app or print dialog:
    • Go to Print Settings > Paper Type and select the closest match (e.g., “HP Matte Brochure Paper”).
    • Set Print Quality to “Best” to slow down the print and improve ink adhesion.

3. Avoid Duplex Printing

Cardstock may jam during automatic two-sided printing. Always print single-sided when using thicker media.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
