HP ENVY Photo 7100 prints documents but does not print photos - Windows 11. I have the same problem on HP 3101 and HP Envy 110. This occurred after converting from Windows 10 to 11. Done all the regular stuff: unplug/plug printers; unplug/restart computer, tested print spoolers; uninstall/install printers with updated drivers. The HP3101 gets error message 0x80010105 "experienced unspecified configuration error. Also tried printing from Windows "Paint" instead of Windows Print function. No Photos, but documents OK.

Hi @NNR2

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Photo print failures after upgrading to Windows 11 may be caused by driver compatibility or print pipeline issues. Switching to a basic driver and adjusting photo print settings can help restore functionality.

Thank you for the detailed steps you've already taken—it’s clear you’ve been thorough and persistent, and I truly appreciate that.

Let’s build on your efforts with a few targeted actions that can help restore photo printing on your HP ENVY Photo 7100, HP DeskJet 3101, and HP ENVY 110 series printers.

1. Uninstall All HP Drivers and Apps

Fully remove existing drivers and software to avoid conflicts:

  • Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
  • Uninstall all HP-related software (including HP App or HP Smart).
  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click each printer > Remove device.
  • Restart your PC.

2. Install Basic Print Driver Only

Avoid full-feature software and use the basic driver:

Choose Basic Drivers under the driver section and install only that.

3. Use the HP App for Photo Printing

After installing the basic driver:

  • Open Microsoft Store and install the HP App (not HP Smart).
  • Open the HP App > Add your printer > Select a photo > Print.
  • Ensure Paper Type is set to Photo Paper, and Print Quality is set to Best.

4. Check Windows Print Settings

  • Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Select your printer > Printer preferences.
  • Under Paper/Quality, choose Photo Paper and Best quality.
  • Under Advanced, ensure Print in grayscale is disabled.

5. Error 0x80010105 on HP 3101

This error may indicate a print pipeline conflict:

  • Open Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Select the HP 3101 > Printer properties > Advanced tab.
  • Change the Print Processor to WinPrint and Default data type to RAW.
  • Click Apply and restart the PC.

These steps should help restore photo printing across all three printers. If the issue persists, we can explore alternate print paths like Microsoft Print to PDF or third-party photo apps to isolate the print pipeline.

You're doing an excellent job navigating this—let’s keep refining until it’s resolved.
