Hi @Andrepn,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I'm sorry you're experiencing this issue with HP Easy Scan on macOS Sequoia—it’s frustrating when essential features like scanning don’t work as expected. Unfortunately, updates to software compatibility are dependent on both HP and Apple, and there may not be an immediate timeline available.

Meanwhile, here are a few suggestions to help you scan in the interim:

Use Apple's Preview App or Image Capture:

  • Go to Applications > Preview or Image Capture. These built-in apps often work with scanners even when HP's software is incompatible.

Check for Alternate Drivers or Software:

  • Visit HP's support website to see if there's a newer driver or software update for macOS Sequoia compatible with your printer model.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hello,

Sorry to say that but your answer does not meet my expectations.

First, I already use and done all your suggestions.

Secondly, I just want to have a functional  HP Easy Scan.

So please, go and asks dev to update this app, Sequoia is now two months after launch and normally you have access to beta to be sure to be ready D-Day.

Every year, it is the same story, this app is broken. It is really more user friendly than your proposed solutions.

So, until I have an update, I cannot accept your answer as Solution, nor say your answer is helpful, sorry for that.

Thanks for your understanding.

Kind Regards.

To be more precise, I cannot accept that functionalities sold with my printers are broken.

I think that you can understand that.

I just updated Sequioa to 15.1.1

Now HP Easy Start recognized the Printer and installed fine.
I downloaded easy Start here:

Seems to be the most current Version

The error still running on Scanner, the Printer working fine with this update but scanner not working.

I figured out how to do it - Hope Apple or HP come up with  better solution

For Scanning on the HP5740 with Sequoia – assuming you have installed the printer:

  • Select Mac “System Settings”
  • Select “Printers & Scanners” (bottom of the list on left side of page).
  • Select Printers – “HP Officejet 5740 Series”.
  • Click on “Open Scanner”.
  • Proceed as before:
    • Use cursor to define scanned area.
    • Press Scan – note in “Scan To” box where your scanned document will end up.
    • “Scanning Document “Scan XX” will appear in a box.
      • The actual scan will take several minutes!  Be patient!
    • “Scan Results” will finally pop up in a box.
