I am unable to scan using HP Easy Scan app after my macOS 10.15 Catalina update. When do we see an update from HP for Easy Scan compatible for macOS 10.15 Catalina ?

Hi,

For now, use Image Capture as a workaround:

HP are actively working to restore complete functionality with apple, check for updates in the near future.

Hi

I have a HP M477fnw and yesterday installed the Catalina Version 10.15.2 on my desktop.

I am not able to use the scan function from my printer to the desktop.

The HP easy scan is work around,  but is a bit cumbersome.

Does HP have fix to be compatible with Catalina 10.15.2?

Any help or time frame on the fix would be appreciated.

Thank you

macOS 10.15.3 (released 1/28/2020) contains the fix for HP Easy Scan.  Once updated HP Easy Scan will be able to scan from the glass or the ADF as normal.

Scan to Computer is also fixed with 10.15.3.

I did notice that if the printer is in sleep mode, some times an error will be reported.  But if you wake the printer by inserting a page in the ADF or touching the screen you will be able to scan normally.
