I'm trying to connect my printer to my laptop and I'm using the HP easy start tool. However, when it gets to the point of searching for the software I always get the message "Internet Connection Error" but everything is connected to the internet so I'm not sure why it's not working.
I've downloaded the firmware and utility diagnostic tools that are on the HP website it directs you to if you can't connect but these are obviously not the software or drivers, I cant find them anywhere. I used the print and scan doctor it gets you to download and it says I haven't installed the full software solution for the printer. So I clicked on the link it provides but it just takes you to "Page not found" on the HP website.
I've tried to add a device to my laptop through "printers and devices" but the drivers are not listed for my printer.
I am at a loss of what to do as I cant find advice anywhere. I have managed to connect it to my phone easily enough but my laptop is just not working. I need the printer for University so this is kind of stressing me out at this point.
EDIT: Never mind, turns out this printer is not compatible with windows 8/8.1 which was not mentioned on the website I bought it from, annoyingly. Luckily though, the laptop I was trying to connect it to isn't the main one I was going to use for university and the one I will be using is compatible. If I need to print something from this one I'll just have to email it to myself to print off my phone or other laptop.
But to be honest, I don't understand why they would skip a windows generation but oh well.

@Serym Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that you are getting HP Easy Start Internet Connection Error.
Let's set a static IP address for the printer:
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). You can find the DHCP range of the router using its internal settings page or in its manual. Use the CD that came with your router or type the router's IP address (ends in .1) into a browser.
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway and first DNS. Leave the second one blank. <<< The DNS could be your problem. If this does not work, try Google's DNS 8.8.8.8
- Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.
