HP Easy Start program will not load and stops after agreeing to terms and conditions

HP Easy Start program will not load and stops after agreeing to terms and conditions and just sits and spins. The start up correctly recognizes my printer Smart Tank 6001 but the set up freezes. Tried resetting and downloading, using Admin rights to run the program, reset the browser, logged into HP to download the Easy Start file, tried shutting down firewall and virus before starting Easy Start.This is a new Windows 11 computer and is up to date, etc etc, tried 8x to run the set up application but nothing works yet it sees my Smart Tank 6001 either on network or USB- does not make sense why it stops other than it is a very poor program. The separate available scanner program does install with the separate file from HP Downloads but wanted the full programs only found in Easy Start. I do not want to use the APP because you have to stay logged in.  Any Help ??

I am sorry for the situation.

I'm not sure I can help -- I've had similar issues with EasyStart.  In spite of every effort, including a fresh and clean installation of Windows 11, an assigned IP address on a fully capable and configured network, the Easy Start search and install wrapper either fails the search or fails to pull (and download / install) the printer software.   I've been told repeatedly that the wrapper method should work.  The EasyStart wrapper works for some folks else it would have been tossed a long time back.  ?

You might have better luck with the "Offline" version of the installer.  

The "Offline" web pack includes the actual software -- no questions about whether you want to install the full driver or the HP App.  I've had mixed results with this method -- it's presumably more straight forward.

NOTE: The printer supports connections using 2.4GHz and 5GHz

If using 5GHz and the printer is not responsive, consider connecting the printer to your network on the 2.4GHz frequency.  Slower and stable is always better than faster but flaky.

I've never tried using Wi-Fi Direct as a means to isolate and install printer software.

Wi-Fi Direct is a "limited" Wireless connection that uses your printer's Wireless radio to connect directly to your (Windows) wireless computer.  No router, no network.

It occurs to me that the Offline version of the software might install using this connection type.

Never tried it -- just an idea.

Reinstalling?

• Uninstall existing full driver printer software from Programs and Features. 
• After the software is uninstalled, Restart the computer and sign in

The Offline Use Only, Print and Scan Driver, or similarly named installation web packs can be used in either a network‑connected or USB‑connected environment.

The name of the installation file depends on the printer model and the type of packaging.

This method includes the printer software in the installation package; hence the much larger file size.

You need not answer questions about which driver or type of printer software to select and install.

Using USB?

Be sure to unplug the USB cable between the printer and the computer before loading the software. 

Re-connect the USB cable when instructed to do so, generally near the end of the successful installation of the printer software.
