Till last week I was on the same situation but was able to get my printer working on mac by using mac driver of 2510 for my 2130. very annoying situation from HP.
They are not even willing to have access to mac drivers of particular printers by giving direct FTP access to the drivers .

Hi. Yesterday I bought a new DJ5820 printer. The HP Easy Install seems not that easy... I have tried many times to download and install the software and I have had no success... It finishes the downloading process and stops, no buttons get active... I am quite desperate and getting angry about the hours I have spent with the "EASY INSTALL" proicess!!!

Instead of using the Not So Easy Start, on your Mac try this:
- Restore Network Settings on the printer's little screen (this will help if the installer began but didn't finish its data transfer to the printer)
- Log on to your wireless network on the printer's little screen
- Open Settings on your Mac, go to Printers, Select 'Add a Printer' or click the plus sign at the bottom of the printer list
- Select your printer from the list of nearby printers.
This should allow Bonjour to install the driver instead of the terrible HP software
🙂

I had the exact same issue for a few months and tried everything including all the steps HP suggested. The only thing that worked was creating a temporary new user profile (cannot be guest account AND must be given administrator privileges) and downloading Easy Start and installing the printer software through it.
I would also suggest disabling all anti-virus software, firewalls, ad-blocker applications etc. on this new user profile since it seems like an application is blocking some feedback verification to HP's servers and preventing the installation of the printer drivers.
You can delete the new user profile as soon as you've installed the HP software since it'll be system-wide.
