HP Easy Start keeps saying I need to sign in with the name I used when I registered my printer. My old PC died and I do not remember what it was. Anyway to fix this as cannot get my flat glass scanner to work.

Hi @butterfly67,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble with HP Easy Start prompting you to sign in with the name you used when registering your printer, and you don't remember that information, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue.
Check for Updates: Ensure that you have the latest version of HP Easy Start. Visit the official HP website and download the latest version compatible with your operating system.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off your printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Wait for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Reconnect the power cord.
- Turn on the printer.
Reset the Wireless Settings:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Setup or Wireless menu.
- Select Restore Network Settings or Wireless Settings.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the network settings.
Reinstall HP Easy Start:
- Uninstall the current HP Easy Start software from your computer.
- Download the latest version from the official HP website and reinstall it.
- During the installation process, follow the on-screen instructions carefully.
Manual Setup:
- If the HP Easy Start continues to cause issues, you can set up your printer manually.
- Go to the official HP website and download the full-feature software package for your printer model.
- Install the software and follow the on-screen instructions for manual setup.
Regarding the flat glass scanner issue, make sure that the full-feature software package is installed correctly. If the scanner still doesn't work, you may need to troubleshoot the scanning functionality separately. Check for updated drivers, ensure the scanner is properly connected, and refer to the printer's user manual for specific troubleshooting steps.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
