Hi @ReallyCat,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

HP EasyColor is a technological feature integrated into HP print drivers, specifically designed to enhance the quality and consistency of color in printed documents. It automatically adjusts and improves the color quality of your document, particularly enhancing photographic images in JPEG or PNG formats.

Features of HP EasyColor

Automatic Adjustment: HP EasyColor technology automatically scans and adjusts images and documents to improve color consistency and sharpen details.

Enhanced Photo Quality: By enhancing the entire image at once, rather than in parts, it provides sharper details and faster printing results.

Default Setting: This feature is enabled by default in both HP PCL 6 print drivers for Windows and HP print drivers for macOS, meaning that you don’t need to manually adjust settings for improved quality.

How to Use/Disable HP EasyColor

In Windows and macOS, HP EasyColor is enabled by default. However, if you wish to disable it or manually adjust color settings, you can do so through your print driver settings.

For Windows:

  1. Open the document you wish to print.
  2. Select the Print option from your software program.
  3. Choose your printer and click on Properties or Preferences.
  4. Navigate to the Color tab.
  5. Uncheck the HP EasyColor checkbox to disable it.

For macOS:

  1. Within your document program, click File and then Print.
  2. Select your printer.
  3. Click the Color/Quality Options tab.
  4. Clear the HP EasyColor checkbox to turn off the feature.

By disabling HP EasyColor, you can manually adjust additional color settings to meet specific printing needs.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
