macOS 10.15 Catalina

HP EasyStart fails to detect EasyScan installation status; it incorrectly displays the application as "Not Installed" prompting users to install it even with the last version (1.9.3) already present on the system.

Hello,

Let me inform you that MacOS version 10.15.3 solves the problem found with the HP Easy Scan application and with the Scan to Computer option. MacOS version 10.15.3 is available since January 28, 2020.
Refer to this article proposed by @IronBadger for more information on how to solve the problem.

Please update the macOS as follows:

  1. Click the Apple menu, then click System Preferences.
  2. Click on Software Update.
  3. Download and install the latest version of macOS 10.15 on 10.15.3.
  4. Try scanning with HP Easy Scan or from the printer control panel with Scan to Computer.

macOS 10.15.3 and EasyScan 1.9.3 are already installed. Had no problems with the scanner app itself since it works normally.

 

The issue I'm talking about affects the EasyStart application. The web installer incorrectly shows the program as "Not Installed" prompting users to install it at once. It's not a normal behavior since the app is already installed on the OS.
