I use HPEasyStart software to install a driver for an HP Laser Jet MFP M139w printer. The software displays the printer to be installed. It finds another printer that I have already installed, but does not display the new printer. Please help.

Hi @roarjmj,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how inconvenient it is when HP Easy Start doesn’t detect your new printer, especially when you need it installed quickly.

The HP LaserJet MFP M139w should be supported, so let’s go through steps you can perform right now to get it recognized:

Check connection type

Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi‑Fi network as your PC.

If using USB, try a different port and cable.

Reset printer network

On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button until the light blinks. Reconnect it to your Wi‑Fi using the HP Smart app.

Run HP app

Sometimes the HP app detects printers more reliably than Easy Start.

Install HP app from the Microsoft Store and try adding the printer there.

Update Windows drivers

Go to HP’s support site, search for “HP LaserJet MFP M139w,” and download the full feature software and drivers.

Run the installer manually if Easy Start doesn’t find the printer.

Temporarily disable firewall/antivirus

Security software can block Easy Start from discovering devices.

Disable it briefly during installation, then re‑enable afterward.

Check the IP address.

Print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel.

If the printer has an IP address, you can add it manually in HP Smart or Windows “Add Printer.”

I hope this helps

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Best regards,
