HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer

Please help. I am an old guy who just purchased a new HP laptop because my 10-year-old HP desktop computer finally died. Whenever I needed to scan on the old one, I just opened the printer icon, put the paper I was scanning into the printer and hit scan. I then moved the scanned document to my desktop and attached it or emailed it out. My new computer is set up and the printer is loaded ??? but I can't see a printer icon on my desktop like my old computer. I know the printer is working because my wife can send a print job from her phone to the printer, and it prints. I know this is user stupidity, and I don't know anything about how computers work, but is there a way of getting that printer icon back so I can scan and print from the laptops desktop like I used to?

You need to install the full feature driver.  Download it here

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-5530-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5304881

manual is here http://www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03773204.pdf

With my HP CM1415 Laserjet it comes with an app named "hp scan"   and hp smart cannot be used (at least for me)

There is no icon for HP Scan, I just type it into the windows 11 search bar

Try typing "hp scan" in the windows search and see if it works. You may have everything installed and just missing the icon.
