Hp Envy 5530

I have an HP Envy 5530 that prints fine with my imac wirelessly, with an ipad or iphone fine. I have a laptop that ran Windows 7 and it printed fine. I upgraded to Windows 10 and immediately the printer did not work. I deinstalled it. I restarted the laptop. I downloaded the latest software and drivers from the HP website for windows 10 and let Hp installer install the printer.

 

It will not print anything either via USB or wirelessly. It will print an internal test page but not a "external" one whatever that means. I can use the software to clean the cartridge heads and check ink levels etc but it will not print. It does not say there are any documents in the print queue and it sends to the printer.

 

It printed fine until the wondows 10 upgrade. I have ensured I have all the correct windows update files and they have been installed. I ahve another printer not an HP and it prints fine wirellesly to it but I would like to get it to work with the HP Envy.

 

Can any one help or advise please? I have spent hours on this trying to get it work wthout any success.  Thak you.

They were hopeless as the printer was out of warranty and they wouldn't do anything other than suggest I take it to a third party to get it fixed. Nothing wrong with the printer as it printed lovely with other pcs and devices.

I have resolved the issue and thought I would let people know in the event anyone else was experiencing the same problem. I downloaded the driver software for the model up from mine - the hp envy 5540 and it works an absolute treat first time- wish I'd thought of that weeks ago. Simply marvellous.

As stated in my post I have set up the printer fine. I can print from other devices/pcs fine to that printer. I also remind that the laptop with the problem printed fine to it for two years until the day I upgraded to windows 10. I deinstalled the printer when it didn't work via the installation software and downloaded the version windows 10 from your support website but it will only print an internal print page. I'm not sure what that means . Does anyone have any other suggestions please? I like the printer and don't want to use another. Please note any device NOT ON WINDOWS 10 can print to it perfectly fine wirelessly and the laptop printed beautifully when it was windows 7. Many thanks in hope

I understand that the printer is setup correctly and it is printing fine.

 

You need to install the printer correctly on the computer where you have done the upgrade to windows 10.

Ok thank you for your reply. I followed your steps to the letter and it did not work. This had already been done previously three times. For clarification this was done on the windows 10 laptop.

Are you able to tell me what it means when it prints an internal test page perfectly well but not the other test page. Many thanks for your help.

Unfortunately I have already followed this link to no avail. I can get it to print an internal test page but absolutely nothing else. Interestingly your support page tells me that there is a full feature support driver for windows 10 for my printer model. That link didn't work either in the event you send me there. Am beginning to think I should chuck the printer. Has anyone managed to get my model printer to work successfully with windows 10 or should I resign to the fact it won't. Any further advice is greatly appreciated.
