Trying to print from my HP Envy 5642.  It was working great until a few weeks ago.  I've stopped & restarted the print spooler several times.  I've tried unplugging.  I completely uninstalled and reinstalled.  If I check the ports they say they are working fine.  My printer will print the reports concerning my printer.  When I try to print from my Dell laptop I get a message of either attention required or my printer has a problem that requires my intervention.  I don't know anything else to do

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

 

Restart the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Wait for 60 seconds and connect the power cord back in.
  5. Turn on the printer.

Run HP Smart:

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Have you tried printing from any other devices? Could you test printing from your phone or another laptop and let me know how it works?
