HP ENVY 6022e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I created an Open office spreadsheet but when I printed it using the HP Envy 6000 some of the characters were missing and it was actually a total mess. Someone suggested that perhaps I needed to update the printer driver. I have been going round in circles trying to do this using HP Support Assistant. I have put in the ip address and the SSID but it would not accept either and said it could not find the network. Can anyone help? I am sure I must be doing something wrong but I am not really all that familiar with this sort of thing. Am I right in thinking that SSID Is the name of the wireless network as shown on the hub?

Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

I've never used the HP Support Assistant to install printer software - might be possible, of course.

Yes, the SSID named network is the network to which you have connected the printer.

If you have not done so, consider

  • HP Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software - supports printing and scanning from the web, printing in in other software and programs (for example, Word), and provides access to the full range of Printing Preferences / Shortcuts.  The full driver adds at least two shortcuts to the Desktop:  Printer Assistant and HP Scan.  If the printer model includes built-in Fax hardware, the software supports the setup and use of the Fax driver.  No Sign-in required.

If the software is already installed and you want to "reinstall":

Uninstall the printer software from Programs and Features

Restart the computer and log in

Check that all the pieces of the printer software have been removed - if anything is deleted, Restart computer and log in

Next,

Download, Save, (then) Install new copy of the printer software

After the software in installed, Restart the computer and log in

  •  HP Universal Scan Full Feature Software adds OCR libraries to installed HP Scan software.  HPUS installs a new, full featured, (and separate) HP Scan software shortcut to the Desktop.
  • Note:  HPUS can be installed as standalone or installed after the full feature printer software.
  • After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in
  • HP Universal Scan Software provides a larger GUI to make using the software easier on high-resolution screens.   New features have been added to the main menu to help with navigating the settings.
