HP ENVY 6430e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello - my ENVY 6430 recently went through what sounded like an abnormally long power-down sequence when I shut it down due to it not responding to a print job. I could hear it working internally for around 30 seconds, making noises that sounded fine in themselves, but they went on for some time and then after the printer shut down completely. I waited a minute or so before trying to power it on again but ever since then it won't respond at all when pressing the power button. I don't have access to another power cable for the printer but I am fairly certain that the problem is not with the cable. The printer simply will not power on. I am guessing this is going to be a return and repair/exchange situation but if anyone knows of anything I can try to power it back on without having to do DIY surgery on the printer or sourcing another power cable, please let me know. I am planning on calling support when they are open tomorrow but in the meantime I'm willing to give any ideas a go that might help.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that your printer is not turning on, I am glad to assist you.

Perform a power reset , Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Keep me posted.

If this helps, please mark the public post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
