macOS 12.0 Monterey

Hallelujah I think I actually got my Envy 6458 to print in color on my Macbook Pro!  Here's how I got it to work using macOS 12.0 Monterey.

I followed the suggested protocol from an HP rep to get my HP Envy6458e to print in color from my Macbook Pro V.12.1.

First I deleted my Envy 6458 by clicking the - Minus symbol

Next I added the printer back by clicking the + plus symbol.

Here's how do this:

Click the Apple symbol at the top left corner of your mac

Click System Preferences

Click Printers and Scanners

Click/Highlight  HP Envy 6400 Series

Click The - Minus button on the bottom left corner of the window- The printer should disappear from the printer menu.

Now Click the + Plus button to add a new printer

As the new window pops up, Click and highlight the HP Envy 6400 Series - then click the Add button on the lower right corner of that screen

The HP Envy 6400 Series should now be in your printer list and you be able to see a color image on the preview screen.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Even after I did all this my color image printed black and white, but I restarted by laptop and now it prints in color. So I'm guessing that the reinstall needed to be reset between the Laptop and the printer and now everyone's happy!

Hope this helps!
