Hi @Mugsy62

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Your HP Envy 6555e printer is not printing emailed documents because either the connection, driver, or app settings are not aligned. The issue can be resolved by verifying the printer’s status, updating the HP App, and re‑adding the printer to ensure proper communication with your computer.

Step‑by‑Step Troubleshooting (Windows/Mac)

Check Printer Status

  • Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi‑Fi network as your computer.
  • Confirm there are no error lights or messages on the printer’s control panel.

Verify Default Printer

  • On Windows: Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners. Confirm the HP Envy 6555e is set as the default printer.
  • On Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Ensure the HP Envy 6555e is selected as the default.

Update the HP App

  • Open the HP App on your computer.
  • Check for updates and install the latest version to ensure compatibility with emailed documents.

Re‑Add the Printer

  • Remove the printer from your computer’s printer list.
  • Re‑add it using the HP App, ensuring the correct Wi‑Fi connection is selected.

Test with a Local File

  • Print a PDF or Word document saved on your computer.
  • If this works, the issue is isolated to emailed documents.

Check Email Attachments

  • Save the emailed document to your computer before printing.
  • Open the file directly in its application (e.g., Word, Adobe Reader) and print from there.

Run Diagnose & Fix

  • In the HP App, use the Diagnose & Fix option to automatically detect and resolve communication or driver issues.

Note

  • Emailed documents sometimes fail if printed directly from the email client. Saving the file first ensures proper formatting and driver communication.
  • Wireless connectivity is critical. If the printer is intermittently disconnecting, restart both the router and printer, then reconnect through the HP App.
  • Driver alignment matters. Re‑adding the printer refreshes the driver and clears miscommunication errors.

By confirming the printer’s default status, updating the HP App, re‑adding the printer, and saving emailed documents before printing, you can restore consistent printing functionality. Running Diagnose & Fix ensures any hidden driver or connection issues are corrected.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
