Hi,

Windows updates may kill it. Please download the following software and drivers package and re-install to your computer:

     http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/en7640/Full_Webpack-40.2.1073-EN7640_Full_Webpack....

Regards.

Hi,

Please download and run the following tool on your computer:

   http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL50849/mp-145514-6/HPPSdr.exe

Depending on the result, you may have to start over again.

I know Windows updates and HP updates won't live togehter well.

Regards.

Hi,

Alternatively, you can connect to the printer using WiFi Direct connection.

This connection type (Wifi Direct) connects your Mobile device/computer Wifi directly to your printer and does not requires Wifi Router and is the preferred way i would use PROVIDED i do not need to continue the connection to the Wifi router network for surfing.

Do also remember to reconnect back to your WIFI router network to get internet connection after printing.

The password to connect to your printer Direct Wifi is either in the front panel display of the printer  or you need to print it out by holding the WIFi button for 3 sec.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!  I will try these both later today... we do like the printer but have seen a lot of bad reviews for this particular model with these types of issues and we are passed the return date...

Your link to the FTP site is dead as is the link for these drivers that fix the issue with Windows 10.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/en7640/Full_Webpack-40.2.1073-EN7640_Full_Webpack....

Is there a new link for this driver.  All suggestions posted in the HP forums do not work for Windows 10 and make the printer work.  Even direct WiFi connection and not through the router.

Uninstall KB4022725. It will work. This patch contain kernel driver update, and cause HP driver to be unavailable.
