After upgrading to Mac OD 10.15 Catalina, scanning no longer worked.  I installed latest version of EasyScan, but it's locked up on "Preparing to Scan".  I can scan from System Preferences, so this appears to be an HP software issue.

Hi there,

There's currently a known issue with Catalina and HP Easy Scan.  HP and Apple are working to get that resolved, but in the meantime, the best workaround is to use Apple Image Capture.  You can find the steps on how to use Apple Image Capture in this document.

How will I be notified and by whom, Apple or HP as to when this known issue has been resolved?

Hi there,

As you might imagine, neither HP nor Apple has the ability to know which customers are using 10.15 and Easy Scan.  I would say your best bet would be to check the functionality from time-to-time to see if it's working.  I know this isn't an ideal solution, but it's the best idea I have at this time.

Wow, over 6 weeks and still no good solution.

Hi again,

Unfortunately I don't have any new news to share.  My understanding is that a fix is being developed, but at this time I am not privy to when that would be released.  Sorry 😞

Hi there,

I've been told that a new macOS release today (10.15.3) fixes this issue.  If you download the update, make sure your printer is awake (i.e., not in sleep mode) then you should be able to use HP Easy Scan just as you were before.

I downloaded the latest version 10.15.3, this did hot fix the problem.  The first time I was able to scan two pages, then I received the error on the third page.  Tried this again and received the error on the second page.  See error I received
