HI @davidsde01,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP Envy 7855 printer is stuck on the loading screen and a simple power cycle does not resolve the issue, performing a factory reset might help. Here are the steps to reset your HP Envy 7855 to factory settings:

Power Cycle with the Printer Disconnected from Power Source:

  • Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet and then to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer.

Semi-Full Reset:

  • Ensure the printer is on. If the screen is still stuck, proceed to the next step.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer without turning it off.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Press and hold the power button on the printer for 15 seconds to drain any residual power.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer and to the wall outlet.
  • Turn on the printer.

Entering the Support Menu:

  • Ensure the printer is on.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer while it is still on.
  • Reconnect the power cord while holding down the 'Help' button (or the 'Return' button on some models).
  • Keep holding the button until the printer turns on and shows a support menu.
  • Navigate through the menu to find the option for a factory reset. This might be labeled as “Reset Menu” or “Restore Factory Defaults”.

Factory Reset through the Printer’s Menu:

  • If you manage to bypass the loading screen:
    • Touch the 'Setup' icon (gear icon) on the home screen.
    • Navigate to 'Printer Maintenance'.
    • Select 'Restore'.
    • Choose 'Restore Factory Defaults' and confirm.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
