I need to change the wifi network on my hp envy.  There is no info pad to enter information, it has to be done through the "app", yet I can't find anywhere to do that.  Diagnostics isn't helping.  and I am running from a Macbook Pro, so cannot connect via cord (I think anyway).  I have been paying for the service for several months and can't get connected 😞   Thank you!

Hi @BusyCrissy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating this is, especially when you just want to switch Wi-Fi and the printer doesn’t have a keypad. Here’s the recommended way to change the network for your HP Envy printer using your Mac and the HP app:

Option 1: Use HP App (Recommended)

  1. Download HP App
  2. Open the HP app and sign in with your HP account.
  3. Add Your Printer
    • If the printer is already added, select it.
    • If not, click Add Printer and follow the prompts.
  4. Change Wi-Fi Network
    • In HP Smart, go to Printer Settings → Advanced Settings.
    • This opens the Embedded Web Server (EWS) in your browser.
    • Navigate to Network → Wireless Setup Wizard.
    • Select your new Wi-Fi and enter the password.

Option 2: Use WPS (No App Needed)

If your router supports WPS:

  1. Press the Wireless button on the printer until the light blinks.
  2. Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
  3. The printer will connect automatically.

Option 3: USB Setup (If Wi-Fi fails)

You can connect via USB to your Mac temporarily:

  1. Plug the printer into your Mac with a USB cable.
  2. Open HP app → Add Printer → follow prompts to configure Wi-Fi.
  3. Once Wi-Fi is set, remove the USB cable.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
