We are deploying a few hundred Envy Inspire 7955e printers and I am looking to automate the driver installations to the users PC's which we will deploy via SCCM or an in house software delivery tool. I have downloaded the packages and unpacked them, but I can't seem to get them to install silently with no user interaction. is there a HP IT Administrators Install Guide for these models? Also is there a site to find these HP IT Administrators Install Guides, for other models?

@75HB, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Envy Inspire 7955e

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

For deploying HP printers like the Envy Inspire 7955e silently using SCCM or similar software delivery tools, HP typically provides IT Administrator Install Guides that include instructions for silent installations. Here's how you can approach the situation:

Silent Installation for HP Printers

To perform a silent installation of printer drivers, you'll often need to use specific command line switches that facilitate a non-interactive setup. Common switches include /quiet, /silent, or /qn, but it depends on the package type and install framework used by HP for those drivers.

Find the HP IT Administrators Install Guide

HP provides resources and guides for IT administrators on their support website. You can navigate to the HP support page and search for documentation specific to the HP Envy Inspire 7955e. Here are the steps you can follow:

  1. Visit the HP Support Website.
  2. Enter your printer model, "Envy Inspire 7955e," in the search area.
  3. Browse the available documentation for installation guides, particularly those targeted to IT administrators regarding automated and network installations.

If a specific guide is not available online for this model, HP customer support or technical support might be able to offer detailed resources or guides upon request.

Using SCCM or Deployment Tools

For using SCCM or other deployment methods:

  1. Prepare the Driver Package: Ensure that the unpacked driver files are located in a shared directory accessible to the systems that will receive the deployment.
  2. Create Package and Program: In SCCM, create a new package for the printer drivers, and define a program within the package to run the installer silently using the appropriate command line arguments.
  3. Distribute and Deploy: Distribute the package to distribution points within your network and deploy the program to your target machines.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
