Hi @teambrown26 ,

Thank you for your reply

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Envy Inspire 7900 printer going offline on your Google Nest network:

1. Check Printer and Network Connection

Restart the Printer and Router:

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Restart your router by unplugging it for about 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.
  • Once the router is back online, turn on the printer and reconnect it to the network.

2. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can check for updates on the HP website or through the HP Smart app.

3. Static IP Address

  • Assign a static IP address to your printer to prevent it from losing connection due to IP changes. Here's how:
    • Access your router’s settings (usually via a web browser by entering the router's IP address).
    • Find the DHCP settings and reserve an IP address for your printer based on its MAC address.

4. Check Printer Settings

  • Ensure your printer is set to stay connected to the network.
    • Go to the printer’s control panel.
    • Navigate to the network settings and ensure the Wi-Fi connection is set to always stay on.

5. Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Sometimes, reinstalling the printer drivers on your computer can resolve connectivity issues.
    • Uninstall the current drivers from your computer.
    • Download and install the latest drivers from the HP website.

6. Network Band Compatibility

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi band. The HP Envy Inspire 7900 supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, but 2.4 GHz is generally more stable for printers.
    • Check your router settings to ensure both bands are enabled.
    • Connect your printer to the 2.4 GHz band.

7. Disable Power Saving Features

  • Disable any power-saving features that might cause the printer to go offline.
    • Go to the printer’s settings and look for any power-saving options and disable them.

8. Google Nest Wi-Fi Settings

  • Check your Google Nest Wi-Fi settings for any advanced features that might affect connectivity, such as Quality of Service (QoS) or firewall settings.
    • Temporarily disable any advanced settings to see if the connection improves.

9. Printer Queue

  • Clear any stuck print jobs in the printer queue that might be causing the printer to go offline.
    • Open the printer queue on your computer and cancel all pending print jobs.

10. HP Smart App Troubleshooting

  • Use the HP Smart app to run diagnostics and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
    • Open the HP Smart app on your device.
    • Go to the printer settings and run the diagnostic tools available.

Refer to this document:  HP ENVY Inspire 7900e series User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
