HP Envy Photo 6220
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

I just bought a HP Envy Photo 6220. I set it up like the instructions said, before I tried to connect my devices to it. My iPhone 7 and my girlfriend's Mac with El Capitan 10.11.6 operating system had no problem connecting. The printer showed up immidiately for her on the HP Easy Start setup on her Mac.

When I tried to connect with my Mac with High Sierra 10.13.3, the printer doesn't show up on the HP Easy Start. I also tried through the HP-application under Finder-->Applications, but it didn't show up there either. I then tried to reset my printers under the Printer and scanner settings on the Mac, but it didn't help. I've checked through countless forums, step-by-step walkthroughs on the HP website and so on, but I can't connect my printer in any way. I've not tried this over two days, and it's starting to get extremely frustrating.

Please help me if you have any tips.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums.

I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have an HP ENVY Photo 6220 All-in-One Printer and it does not work on Mac OS 10.13 operating system. Fabulous analysis. Spectacular diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.

You may attempt to install the printer drivers through the Mac OS. The following steps should help:

• Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.

• Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.

• Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.

• Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.

• Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.

• Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list

• Restart your computer and then go back to System preferences – Printers and scanners.

• Click the “Add button” (+).

• Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer. Do not select an HP Fax driver.

Click “Print Using...” or “Use”, and then select Secure AirPrint or AirPrint. Alternatively, you may select the name of your printer if available in that list.

I sincerely hope this information helps. Feel free to let me know how it goes.

Good luck! 🙂

Hello, and thank you for trying to help me.

I just did all the steps you wrote to "Restart your computer", and I went back into "Printers and scanners" under "System preferences". I clicked the "+", but no printer showed up there.

When I click "+", a new window pops up, with "Standard", "IP" and "Windows" as three tabs on top of the window. No printer shows up under "Standard" or "Windows". I clicked the "IP"-tab, and tried to type in the printer's IP-adress (under IPv4), but it didn't connect to the printer either.

My printer is still not connected, and it doesn't show up anywhere.

Do you have any further tips?

You're welcome. 🙂 I truly appreciate your efforts and your patience.

Upon further researching, I came across this HP document. Please perform step 2 to step 6.
NOTE: Though your HP printer is not listed in this document, however, these steps will still help.

Let me know. Cheers! 🙂

I did all the steps in the link you sent me, but no printer shows up anywhere, including under AirPrint.

Any further tips?
