Help, please.  I have a HP Envy Photo 7155 we never set up until now, but we don't know where the setup cartridges are.  How do I bypass this requirement or get new setup cartridges?

Hi @Alumni1111,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing cartridge issues with your HP Envy Photo 7155 printer during the setup process, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

  • Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that you are using compatible and genuine HP ink cartridges for your HP Envy Photo 7155 printer. Using third-party or refilled cartridges might cause compatibility issues.
  • Remove and Reinsert Cartridges: Turn off the printer and open the cartridge access door. Carefully remove the ink cartridges and inspect them for any protective tapes or covers. If present, remove them. Then, reinsert the cartridges firmly into their respective slots.
  • Clean the Cartridge Contacts: Sometimes, the contacts on the ink cartridges or inside the printer can get dirty, which can cause connectivity issues. Gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer using a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water. Make sure they are dry before reinserting the cartridges.
  • Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds and then plug it back in. Turn the printer on and see if the issue is resolved.
  • Update or Reinstall Printer Software: Make sure you have the latest printer drivers and software installed on your computer. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers if needed.
  • Perform a Cartridge Alignment: Most HP printers have an option to align the cartridges. Access this feature through the printer's settings or control panel. Follow the on-screen instructions to align the cartridges properly.
  • Check for Error Messages: If you're getting specific error messages related to the cartridges, follow the instructions provided in those messages to resolve the issue.

Remember that using genuine HP ink cartridges is essential for the best performance and to avoid potential issues with your printer. Additionally, make sure to handle the cartridges carefully to prevent damage during installation.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
