I just hooked up my printer and when I print a page there is nothing on the page. I ran a diagnostic and it says there are no problems?

Hi @Jeff101010,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with the printer printing blank pages.

When your HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-in-One Printer prints blank pages despite diagnostics indicating no issues, the problem could stem from several causes, including empty or clogged cartridges, incorrect settings, or connection issues. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the problem:

1. Check Ink Cartridges

Verify Ink Levels:

  • On the printer control panel, navigate to Ink Levels or Estimated Ink Levels to check if the cartridges have sufficient ink.

Replace or Reinstall Cartridges:

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Remove the cartridges and inspect them for any packaging materials or tape that may not have been removed.
  • Reinstall the cartridges and ensure they are properly seated.
  • If ink levels are low, replace the cartridges with new ones.

2. Run Print Head Cleaning

  1. Print Head Cleaning:
    • On the printer control panel, go to Setup or Settings.
    • Navigate to Printer Maintenance or Tools.
    • Select Clean Printhead. Follow the prompts to complete the cleaning process.
    • You may need to run the cleaning cycle multiple times to see an improvement.

3. Print a Test Page

  1. Print a Test Page:
    • On the printer control panel, navigate to Setup or Settings.
    • Go to Printer Maintenance or Tools.
    • Select Print Quality Report or Print Test Page.
    • Check the test page for any missing colors or lines, which can indicate a printhead issue.

4. Check Printer Settings

  1. Printer Settings:
    • Ensure you are using the correct paper type and print quality settings for your print job.
    • Verify that you are printing from the correct paper tray.

5. Update Printer Firmware

  1. Update Firmware:
    • Go to the HP Support website.
    • Enter your printer model and download any available firmware updates.
    • Follow the instructions to install the firmware update.

Kindly check the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
