The support/knowledge website mentions wireless printing

Does this printer allow direct printing - attaching a cable from the printer to the computer?

It does have a port. It was covered by a sticker. Whew. I called HP Support
1-800-762-3485 and he told me to pull off the sticker, which showed me the port. Thank you!

I opened the HP Envy 6458e. I do not see any ports that will allow me to print directly from a computer using a printer cable. Does this mean that I can only print over the internet? What if I don't have internet service? What if the internet service went down and I needed to print from my desktop computer?

I'm learning that although it may have a port to print directly, it still has to be connected to the internet. This is very strange that I must have it connected to the internet even if I have it connected via a printer cable to my computer. This is what is stated:
While the printer is disconnected, you might be able to print a limited amount, but eventually the printer will stop working. To resume printing, connect the printer to the Internet again. The printer should automatically reconnect to the Internet when the network is restored or the printer is turned on again.
If you try to set up the printer using USB, you will be prompted to change to a Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection method instead to activate these benefits and connect the printer to the Internet. This activation is not possible when using USB for setup.
After setup, you can print to your HP+ printer with a USB cable connection, if desired, but the printer must also remain connected to the Internet at the same time. A USB cable can't completely replace an Internet connection for HP+ printers.
I'm going to research other printers to see if they have this limitation. It's odd that HP is forcing to always have an internet connection.
