Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

i've had a HP Envy printer for about 12 months now which has installed and worked well

in the past few days it stopped printing, so i uninstalled and reinstalled which usually works with these things. No joy, so went a bit deeper - it seems though i can print from the HP site and the drivers are there, Windows 10 cannot see them?

i have dried start. right click, device manager and it is not there. and also all settings, printers and scanners, which sees the printer but reports the error - Driver error, which i cannot resolve.

any help please, as the printer is needed

thank you

For anyone else with this problem I managed to resolve it by bypassing the wizards and asking Windows to install my printer from its IP (found in the printers network settings).

  1. Upon restart using start. right click, device manager it became clear Windows recognised it and from there I was able to check for new software and update the drivers.

Not obvious but a result. The error appears to be because of a recent Windows update.
