This is my last-ditch attempt to see if I can resolve this issue before I give up.
My desktop computer will not connect to my printer wirelessly. The printer maintains a strong wireless signal. Both are on the same wireless network. Multiple other devices and my laptop will wirelessly connect with the printer with ease. This has been going on for a long time, and this issue wasn't happening for the first year that I had the printer. Then my printer started showing up as "offline" for no apparant reason, and I simply cannot figure out how to resolve the issue.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer and driver, and unplugging/restarting the printer, computer and router in every configuration possible. Occasionally it will work for a small period of time and I'll think I found the right fix, and then revert to not working again. For example: for a while it would work when I searched for the printer, selected "the printer I want isn't found", and selected "connect through TCP/IP port". I would have to re-connect using the IP address nearly every time I printed, but it did work...until it just inexplicably didn't anymore. It also worked when selected as a WiFi direct printer for awhile, but no longer does. All the Microsoft and HP troubleshooting and diagnostic programs I've run have been unable to fix the problem.
Currently, it is working through a wired connection, even though I wasn't able to fully install the driver--when I got to the screen that told me to plug the usb cord into the printer, the computer did not acknowledge the usb cord getting plugged in at all, and only gave me the options of "back" or "connect later". I uninstalled everything, unplugged the usb, restarted the computer, started the process again, plugged the USB in and...still nothing. I tried multiple usb ports, no dice. The printer does print regardless through the wired connection, so that's fine, but the core issue does seem to be the driver--something is wrong with it and I cannot figure out a way to get it properly installed for the life of me. I have spent many hours trying to resolve this, with no satisfactory progress at all.
At this point I'm pretty much assuming that I have to give up on the wireless printing altogether and resign myself to only hardwired printing from my main computer. It's just an annoyance/inconvenience, hardly a hardship, but I hate just giving up on problems like this when I know there *must* be a reasonable solution out there somewhere, and I sure would love to have the wireless printer I planned on and paid for up and working again.
Does anyone have any ideas (beyond all the obvious solutions that I assure you I have most definitely tried) for how I might fix this problem?

Hey there! @Brayghzzel,
Try the steps recommended below.
Restart computer, router and printer together to connect them back to the network.
Try updating the printer firmware to the latest version and check if it helps.
Update the printer firmware using this link. Click Here
Print a wireless test report from the printer and check if the wireless card on the printer is functioning correctly.
Follow any suggestions on the wireless report to troubleshoot wireless connectivity issues.
-
Printers with LCD and text-based control panels: Print the page from the Wireless, Network Settings or Setup menu.
-
Printers with basic control panels (buttons only): Print the report using the button combinations on the printer control panel. For some printers, press the Wireless button
and Information button
at the same time, or press the Wireless button
and Start Copy Black
button at the same time.
Also, I'd suggest you assign a manual IP address and also disable the IPv6 on the printer. Here are the steps:
• Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.
• Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
• Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
• Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
• Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
• Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
Lastly, if the issue still persists try performing a semi-full reset on the printer and try printing wirelessly.
As the steps to perform a semi full reset is confidential and dedicated to your printer. I will share the steps through a private message.
