can you maybe try these steps

 Restore Factory Defaults

  1. From the screen on your printer, navigate to Setup.
  2. Tap Tools.
  3. Tap Restore Defaults.
  4. Tap Yes.
  5. The printer will restart.
  6. Once restarted, your printer will have been reset to factory default settings.

The printer that I have is HP 5820, doesn’t have the display that goes to the setup.

Greetings!

Thanks for confirming.

Ideally it is suggested that :

1. Turn the HP DeskJet 5820 Printer off and wait for nearly 10 seconds before doing anything else. Disconnect the printer power cable from the printer. Switch off the device or computer you are trying to print from.

2. In case, your printer uses a wireless connectivity, you need to restart the wireless router. Disconnect the power cable from your router. As a matter of fact, your Internet service will disconnect while the router is not active. Now wait for 10 seconds and then reconnect the router with the power cord. Now, wait for the network activity of the router to resume with light glowing. Now, press the wireless control panel icon or wireless button on the printer to turn off the wireless connection, and then switch it on. Now, wait for the HP DeskJet 5820 printer to reconnect to the router.

3 Now, turn the computer on and try to print. If you can now print, the Reset HP DeskJet 5820 Printer is done.

but additionally you can also try to

1.  Power off the printer,

2. Then press the ON/OFF switch & Cancel button (x) on top & hold for 10 seconds or so.

3. The Display will show "0" . This should indicate that the printer reset is done and you can reset it by getting it connected to Wifi etc.

hope this helps.

Thanks

Ronnie
