In late March, I purchased an HP ENVY Inspire 7220e from Apple.com to replace my HP Tango. HP will not let me register the product to my account or get technical support because it says I have an invalid serial number. The serial number is formatted like this: "TH4C3XXXXX". The printer does show up in my HP Smart app.

In addition to not being able to register the product, I have printing problems (hence needing technical support). The printer has never printed a clear page.  On printouts, there are white lines through all black text and images. I have run all "Print Quality Tools" and "Alignment and Maintenance" tools, including Align Printhead, Clean Printhead, and Clean Smear. I have also removed the ink cartridge, wiped clean, and reinstalled. Nothing works.

Hello @My-Screen-Name2 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

We are sorry that you are going through multiple issue. Let us fix the serial number issue.

Have you enrolled your printer to AIP or Instant ink service?

Please login to your HP account and verify the printer model mentioned there with the serial number mentioned on the physcial printer. Please let us know the outcome.

I am an HP Employee. Although I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
