Hello, I bought a secondhand HP Deskjet printer.

 

I have an acct for the HP Smart app from a previous printer.

 

When i went to set it up, I realized it was out of ink. I cant use the old ink carts from my previous printer because it is "protected" by that printer.

 

I cant print the page to set up new printer because it is out of ink. I can't get ink thru the Instant Ink program because it does not detect the printer as being set up fully.

 

Did i get scammed out of the $ i paid for the printer or is there some way to work around this?
