HP LASERJET PRO MFP M125a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

our HP LASERJET PRO MFP M125a have software issues really often. Tried to install on a new computer because I had problem with another HP printer and this one used to work before.

Unfortunately now it does not work. I tried to install a driver but it crashed after 99% and wrote about an error. According to some forum I tried to do it again after clean boot and turning of the firewall but did not help. Then tried hp print and scan doctor and it froze in step connecting with the device.

Any help? I am totaly frustrated.

I tried to install on 3 pcs. On one printer is working but scanner not. On other two neither printing nor scanning is working. And when I tried my laptop - everything is working without any installation. All computers have Win 10. Is that normal?

Hi @Emil1 ,

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

The Barachiel is at your service.

I understand you are in need of support,

I'll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:

Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?

When was the last time it worked without these issues?

In the meantime, please try the steps mentioned below:

Root Level – printer driver reinstallation:

I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:

In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Once done, follow this link and install the full feature driver software. 🙂

Keep me posted,

If the information I’ve provided was helpful,

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!

Good Luck. 😉

Hi,
thank you for your time, but:

I have win10 so search showed me apps and features instead of programs and features. The only HP thing I found there was HP smart so I uninstalled it. Then I get also to programs and features viac control panel, but did not find any HP feature there.

then I did all the other steps exactly lke you wrote.

Then downloaded driver you posted. Aproved some classic steps, but again - instalation froze on step "Device found.   Waiting for finishing of device installation.    Can take several minutes" and then came:
"Error
finishing of install operation took too long. It is a crucial error, that inhibit installation of product. Restart computer and launch the installer again. If problem persists, visit web page of technical support for your product"

(I traslated these statements from slovak version, so they are maybe not exactly the same as in english version)

Any further ideas?

Thank you

Emil

Hi Barachiel,

Thank you for your tip but how this HP Support can actually help me? The printer is already out of Waranty so they wrote I should go to the service.

So I tried again my newer printer HP Laserjet MFP M26a which has pretty much same problem. That one is still in waranty but the support page just told me "Service of this product is not made by HP anymore. You can find a solution on this support page."

Do I really need to send it to service for a month? Because it really seems to be a software problem. When I connect both printers to my laptop, everything, scanner works even without any driver instalation. But on any of 3 PCs the scanners do not work.
