HP LaseJet P1005 win 10 install issue (AGAIN)

In short:

* I download the drivers from HP site (HP LaserJet P1005)

* my computer is a HP All-In-One Win 10 Home, 64bit workstation

* the install starts and then EXITS WITH NO MESSAGE (no success, but no error either)

* after the Setup exits - i find under "C:\Program Files\HP\HP LaserJet P1000_P1500 Series" I get RECURSIVELY REPEATING that same structure "HP\HP LaserJet P1000_P1500 Series\HP\HP LaserJet P1000_P1500 Series\HP\HP LaserJet P1000_P1500 Series\HP\HP LaserJet P1000_P1500 Series..."

QUESTION: How can I install my HP LaserJet P1005 printer under Win 10 Home? Windows has option "I have disk" for printers, is there anywhere a set of such "Disk"-files which I can download and let Windows take drivers from that location? Your program "ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64-en.exe" is UNABLE to extract its own contents correctly.

May your operating system language is Deutsch?

If so, be sure to use the correct installation program for your locate, not the English version as I can see from the used filename mentioned in your post (ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64-en.exe is intended for an English locale, notice the file name differences):

I have tried the link you posted but that one also just creates recursively the same structure and does not install the driver really.
The only differennce is that the recursively-repeating C:\Program Files\HP\HP LaserJet P1000_P1500 Series\HP\HP LaserJet P1000_P1500 Series\HP\HP LaserJet P1000_P1500 Series\HP\HP LaserJet P1000_P1500 Series\HP\HP LaserJet P1000_P1500 Series\HP\HP LaserJet P1000_P1500 Series\HP path now also contains both English and Deutsch subfolders in all recursively-repeated subdirectory levels.

That basic driver available for download on your support page is not working at all on my Win10 Home. It never shows any dialog for connecting the usb printer, it just silently crashes after creating that faulty recursive structure.

I hope I will not regret later for installing a driver for a wrong OS, but after a whole day lost on trying to install this printer - I am happy to accept any solution. 🙂

You’re much welcome @ntr777 .

Could you please attach the entire log to better get some better understanding in context? This is likely related to your PC locale settings, the full log will better clarify what is going on.
