Hello
I have a problem with the HP LaserJet MFP M28w printer
When the printer is turned on, it does not turn on the lights or display. However, the toner roller spins.
However, when connected via USB, it will also appear as HP RBX load.
I suspect corrupted firmware.
Is there a way to reset the printer to factory settings?
Thank you for the advice.

Hi all.

I have same problem. Laser jet MFP 28w Pro.

When I tryed to make a Scan, printer worked, but in HP Scan was ani sheet view. I tryed it by the WIFI Direct and also by USB, but still same result.

I downloaded new Firmware, opened it, loadeed it. After that instalation sw showed no problem, but on display wass error.

After turning printer off (power cable out) and on printer shortly rolled (made a noise for 4 seconds) but display and all buttons are dark. When I press on/off button I hear short nois (like turn on/off power..), on display something flashed but nothing is happen.

When connected via USB, it will also appear as HP RBX load.

What is the problem? I did everithing like a manual, but printer looks death.

Hi @kirogi,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP LaserJet Pro MFP 28w after a firmware update. Firmware updates are designed to improve the performance and functionality of your printer, but sometimes they can cause unexpected problems. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Power cycle the printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 30 seconds. Then, plug it back in and turn it on again. This simple step can often resolve minor issues.
  • Check for error messages: If there are any error messages or error codes displayed on the printer's control panel, make a note of them. These can provide valuable information for troubleshooting.
  • Revert to the previous firmware version: If the problem started immediately after the firmware update, it's possible that the new firmware is causing the issue. Check the HP support website for your specific printer model and see if there is an older version of the firmware available for download. Follow the instructions provided to revert to the previous firmware version and see if that resolves the problem.
  • Reset the printer settings: Resetting the printer to its default settings can sometimes help resolve software-related issues. Refer to your printer's user manual or visit the HP support website for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
