Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP LaserJet 1022 USB driver problem.  Windows 10 device manager don't recognize device.  System message in the attached photo. The system does not detect the device, loading drivers manually does not help, reinstalling the drivers does not help, repairing from Windows does not help, HP repair software does not help, etc. Does HP have any solution to the problem or drivers that work on Windows 10 ver. 22H2 ?

It seems like you're facing a persistent issue with your HP LaserJet 1022 printer not being recognized by Windows 10, despite trying various troubleshooting steps. Here are a few additional steps and considerations that might help.

 

Compatibility Mode: Sometimes, older drivers might not work well with newer versions of Windows. You can try installing the printer driver in compatibility mode:

  • Right-click on the driver setup file and select Properties.
  • Go to the Compatibility tab.
  • Check the box that says Run this program in compatibility mode for and select an earlier version of Windows that the driver was designed for (e.g., Windows 7).
  • Apply the changes and then try reinstalling the driver.

Windows Update: Ensure that your Windows 10 is fully updated. Sometimes, Windows updates can include driver updates that might resolve compatibility issues with devices.

HP Support Assistant: Download and run the HP Support Assistant to check for any updated drivers or firmware for your printer. Sometimes, HP releases updates that address compatibility issues with newer Windows versions.

USB Port and Cable: Test the printer with different USB ports on your computer and ensure you're using a high-quality USB cable that supports data transfer.

Printer Firmware Update: Check if there's a firmware update available for your HP LaserJet 1022 printer. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve communication issues with the computer.

Driver Cleanup: Use a tool like the HP Print and Scan Doctor or a third-party driver cleanup utility to completely remove any traces of the existing printer drivers. Then, try reinstalling the drivers from scratch.
