Hi,
the integrated webserver of my printer only show the "Information" tab, but no others. Thus, I can't configure anything.
I read that I had to log in, but I don't have any Admin password or any other password. My windows user password does not work.
I already tried to reset the printer to factory setting, but that didn't help.
Is there any chance for me to either
* get the full webserver menu back or
* use some kind of default admin password or
* reset the password (which I actually never set up...!).
As I wrote above, reset to factory setting didn't help.
Thank you a lot!
Harry

Hey Zoey7886, the German support team was amazing! They helped me reset my printer deep down on the harddisk level via the printer's touchpad. And it works!!!
Thank you HP for helping me out! The support employee in the German support team took 25 minutes to stay on line with me while my printer was rebooting - although my warranty has been expired for a long time! That's what I call customer service!
Thanks to you, too, Zoey7886, for taking so much time to try out the different options.
Best regards from Germany,
HarryDob

@HarryDob, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Access to Integrated Web Server for HP LaserJet 500 color MFP M575!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If the Integrated Web Server (EWS) only shows the "Information" tab and no others, it typically indicates that you need to be logged in as an administrator to access the configuration settings. Here are the steps you can take to resolve this issue:
1. Check for Default Admin Password
If you have never set up a password, there may be a default admin password. This can often be found in the printer's user manual or support documentation. Try "admin" or leave the password field blank to see if it allows access.
2. Reset the Printer Again
Sometimes, a factory reset does not reset the admin credentials properly. Make sure you follow the correct procedure for a factory reset:
- Go to the Home screen on the printer control panel.
- Select Settings.
- Go to Service.
- Select Restore Defaults.
3. HP Jetdirect Firmware Utility
Use the HP Jetdirect firmware update utility to manage passwords if the printer allows it. This tool can sometimes reset admin passwords for network configurations.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi @Zoey7886 ,
Thanks for your efforts. Unfortunately, none of this helped.
1. I tried "admin" and left the password field blank - none of these was accepted.
2. Neither could I find any default password in the manual.
3. I reset the printer again - with the same result: Only the "information" tab is shown.
I couldn't find the HP Jetdirect Firmware Utility. Could you please tell me a link?
Of course, any other solution option is also very welcome.
Best,
Harry

Hi @HarryDob,Thanks for getting back to us — I know this must be frustrating, and I appreciate your patience.
Since the usual login attempts and factory reset didn’t restore full EWS access, it’s likely that the admin password was set and locked via the HP Jetdirect interface. Unfortunately, a standard factory reset won’t clear this if it's password-protected at the Jetdirect level.
Here’s what you can try next:
1. Use the HP Jetdirect Embedded Web Server (EWS):
You’ll need to access the Jetdirect card directly (usually via the printer's IP address) and attempt a reset from there.
2. Firmware Utility Tool:
You can download the HP Jetdirect Firmware Utility from HP official site. Search for Jetdirect Firmware Update Utility in the Drivers & Downloads section for your model or Jetdirect card (often 635n or similar for this printer).

Hi @Zoey7886, yes, it's really frustrating...
I have no clue how I can enter the HP Jetdirect Embedded Web Server. When I adress the printer's IP address, I can only reach the web server's information page. Can you give me a hint?
This is all the software I can find for my printer at the official HP website: https://support.hp.com/de-de/drivers/hp-laserjet-enterprise-500-color-mfp-m575/model/5118247?sku=CD6...
Unfortunately, I can't find any Jetdirect Firmware Update Utility on this page. Can you help me out?
Thank you so much, Zoey. You're my last flicker of hope... 😅
Best,
Harald
