HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw Color Multifunction Printer
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi,

I've been trying to figure out a way to update my firmware. This all started with my printer color alignment getting really bad.

I have the 2012 firmware and saw there's a 2014 update BUT ONLY FOR WINDOWS. It took me forever to figure out almost none of the downloads are available for Mac. I don't have any PCs in the house and there is no update under the touch screen. I see other threads like this one without a resolution: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Software-and-Drivers/How-to-update-CM1415fnw-firmware/m-p/6525...

Is there currently a way to update my printer's firmware using Mac OS that anyone knows of?

Thanks in advance! Been aggravated by this over the last few days as color prints are blurry to read.

Hi,

The firmware update is also available for Mac but is listed for supported versions only which are quite old now.

Try following the utility below and see if it may work:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL41860/kj-101693-6/CM1410_MFP_Series_FW_Update-20140616....

If it doesn't open you will likely need to perform the update from another computer, wither a windows PC or an older Mac with earlier OS version, as the latest update is quite old now already it is not available for any later OS versions.
