Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I am trying to help a friend solve a problem with her HP LaserJet M1212nf MFP printer setup. I have to do this by phone and rely on what she tells me and her screenshots because she lives in a different country.

Recently, someone there screwed up her computer and ended up re-installing Windows 7 from scratch. Because of this, many things that used to work fine now give her problems.

This problem:

When she tries to use Scan to eMail, she gets an error message saying;

"There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control Panel."

She does have an email program installed, Mozilla Thunderbird. From what she tells me, it seems to be selected as the default email program, but the Scan to eMail function still refuses to work.

Prior to her system getting screwed up, this feature used to work seamlessly for her and she never had to do any manual configuration of it,

What needs to be changed or set for Scan to eMail to work?
