Hello.
I have a HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP printer that used to work just fine in all our computers.
Last week I had to format one of the computers and after I installed the Full Driver Package (downloaded directly from the HP product page), I noticed that the scan application could not be found.
And the Toolbox, which is also part of the package, will also not work. The shortcut is there, but when I click it, it gives an error informing it was removed.
I tried the same process in another computer, same error. I even tried using older versions of the driver package, but the final result is always the same.
This is the first time I've come to face this problem. Searching a little bit, I've heard that some for printers (specially newer models), it is necessary to use the "HP Scan and Capture" app from Microsoft Store.
Is this information correct?
I have my Windows 10 completely updated so I don't think it is related to the Operational System.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Let's try installing and using HP Scan Extended and check if that may work:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Following the installation launch the HP Scan Extended application and try scanning, please let me know if that works for you.

Hi!
Thanks for the reply.
I installed the software but it won't find any device. I can't even configure anything in this software.
I guess it is supposed to be like that. I just installed the same driver package in a computer running Windows 7 and the Scan Software works fine.
The HP Software from Microsoft Store is not the best and won't install for all users. So I have to install for any new user that logs in to the computer, which is really annoying.

Is the Full Feature software installed on your computer or only the HP Smart app?
What exact HP applications are listed within the Programs and Features option of the operating system?

Yes, the Full Feature driver package is installed.
Program and Features shows only the main driver and Toolbox. The scan application is not there.
This happened on both computers running Windows 10. I'm guessing it is something related to this OS, because it worked fine in Windows 7.
