Hi @darpanm,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're encountering an issue with the HP LaserJet M209dw's wireless setup process. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Verify Printer and Network Settings:
- Check Printer's Network Status: Ensure the printer is powered on and in a ready state.
- Confirm Network Details: Ensure that your wireless network is functioning properly and that you have the correct network name (SSID) and password.
Restart Devices:
- Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
- Restart Router: Unplug your router, wait for 30 seconds, and plug it back in.
- Restart Laptop/Mobile Device: Restart the device you’re using to set up the printer.
Reset Printer’s Network Settings:
- Navigate to Network Settings: On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup or Network Setup.
- Reset Network Settings: Look for an option to restore default network settings or reset network configuration. This will clear any previous network settings and allow you to start fresh.
Reattempt Wireless Setup:
- Connect via Printer’s Control Panel: Access the wireless setup through the printer’s control panel. Select your network and enter the password.
- Use HP Smart App: If you’re using a mobile device, open the HP Smart app. Follow the prompts to add the printer and select the wireless setup option.
Manual Setup:
- Access Printer’s Web Interface: If the wireless setup via the control panel fails, you can manually configure the network settings using the printer’s IP address. To find the IP address:
- Print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel.
- Enter the IP address into a web browser to access the printer’s embedded web server (EWS).
- Configure the wireless settings directly through the EWS.
Check for Interference:
- Reduce Interference: Ensure there are no significant sources of interference (such as other electronic devices) between the printer and the router.
Update Firmware:
- Firmware Updates: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updates can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
