Hi there!
Recently, I updated my PC to 64-bit Windows 8.1 (Croatian) and I need to find the driver for my printer, HP LaserJet P1005. Where can I find the driver for it? (The drivers from the HP website don't work on my OS).

Hi,
Apologies for jumping in @sandytechy20.
@nbbih01 - Please install the printer using below software installation, that should successfully install:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL21058/bi-55369-7/ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64-hr.exe

@nbbih01 Welcome to HP Community!
I suggest you remove the existing driver using the below steps and then, reinstall the fresh driver (link below) to resolve this issue:
- Press "Windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window.
- Type "services.msc" to get Services - Go to "Print spooler" - Right-click and "Stop" the service.
- Now again open "Run" - Type "spool" and ok - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.
- Go to services again - Start the print spooler.
- Now check for issue resolution.
- If the issue persists, unplug the USB cable from the printer (if present).
- Go to Control panel - Programs and feature - Select all the HP printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel - Devices and printer - Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to the Run window, type - "c:/programdata" - Go to the Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
- Restart your computer.
Then, use this link to access the HP website, find the drivers compatible with your windows and install it: Click here to download
Let me know how that pans out,

Hi there!
I tried to install the driver you gave me, and the installer crashes. I had a similar problem while my PC was running the 32-bit version of Windows 8.1. It was solved when I got the driver for my version of Windows 8.1 (Croatian).
This one: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL21048/bi-55249-7/ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win32-hr.exe
Now, after I upgraded to the 64-bit version of Windows 8.1 (the language is the same), I am looking for the "ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64-hr.exe" driver.

@nbbih01 I suggest you continue using the driver you have as the link I shared earlier is 64bit but is crashing on your device as it doesn't seem to be supported, you can try the below link as the last attempt: Click here to download (ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64-en)
If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.

@nbbih01 The same driver works for all languages as they aren't language dependent, I suggest you try with a new user account to check if it works, also, are there any specific issues while using the printer with the 32bit version that works?

Again, it doesn't work. The installer crashes. You can check here that I had a similar problem with my previous OS which was solved when I got the Croatian version of the HP LaserJet P1005 driver. There were no issues with the printer while it was running 32-bit W8.1

This might require remote access of the computer to fix this issue.
I request you to talk to HP support.
They might have multiple options to help you with this.
- Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
- Select the country.
- Enter the serial of your device.
- Select the country from the drop-down.
- Click on "Show Options".
- Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
Cheers.
