My HP LaserJet P1102W will not print on my new Mac mini that has Mac OS 15.1. I have tried used the Mac supplied driver and also tried the current HP driver that is on the HP website (it states that it only works with MacOS 15.0). Help!

Hi @RonBinns,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The issue with your HP LaserJet P1102W printer not printing on Mac OS 15.1 is likely due to driver compatibility. Since the current HP driver is only certified for MacOS 15.0, some adjustments or alternate solutions may be necessary. Here's how you can troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.
Verify Printer Compatibility
Ensure the HP LaserJet P1102W is officially supported on MacOS 15.1. You can check HP's driver support page for updated drivers or compatibility information.
Reset the Printing System
Sometimes, resetting the printing system and re-adding the printer can resolve driver or communication issues:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or hold down the Control key and click) in the printer list and select Reset printing system.
- Re-add your HP LaserJet P1102W by clicking the "+" button.
Use AirPrint (if available)
The LaserJet P1102W supports AirPrint, which eliminates the need for specific HP drivers. To use AirPrint:
- Remove the existing printer from Printers & Scanners.
- Click the "+" button to add it back.
- When selecting the printer, choose AirPrint as the driver instead of HP-specific drivers.
Download Updated HP Easy Start Tool
The HP Easy Start tool simplifies printer setup and ensures you get the latest compatible software:
- Visit the HP Easy Start download page.
- Download and install the tool.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the printer.
Try a Generic PCL or PostScript Driver
If the official driver and AirPrint don't work, you can try using a generic driver:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Remove the printer and re-add it, selecting Generic PCL Printer or Generic PostScript Printer.
Update Firmware (Optional)
Sometimes, outdated printer firmware can cause issues. Update the printer firmware if possible:
- Connect your printer to a Windows PC or older macOS device.
- Download and install firmware updates from the HP website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
