I just downloaded the latest HP Easy Start 2.15.0 (240923), hoping it will let me install the driver for my LaserJet Pro 100 colorMFP on macOS Sequoia 15.1. No such luck!
Getting the dreaded "We were not able to automatically locate any software options for this product" message.
The frustrating thing is that the driver works fine my Macbook Air M3, running the same masOS 15.1. It was originally running macOS 14, which I subsequently upgraded to macOS 15 and the driver works fine. This is not an option on new M4 Mac Mini, which can only run macOS 15.
What are my options to get the HP drivers installed directly in macOS 15? Is there an option to download full drivers for LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175 printer, which I can install outside of Easy Start?

Hi @ctyrider,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To get your HP LaserJet Pro 100 Color MFP M175nw working on your Mac Mini running macOS 15.1, you have a few options for installing the drivers outside of the HP Easy Start utility.
Download HP Drivers Directly from HP Support
You can download the full printer drivers from HP's official support site rather than relying on Easy Start. Follow these steps:
- Visit the HP support page for your printer.
- Search for your printer model: LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw.
- Under "Driver-Product Installation Software," choose the appropriate macOS version (select macOS 15 or higher).
- Download the full package, which should include the drivers and any necessary software.
This should install the drivers manually, bypassing Easy Start.
Use macOS Built-in Drivers
macOS typically includes built-in drivers for a range of HP printers. To install the driver manually:
- Open System Preferences on your Mac.
- Go to Printers & Scanners.
- Click the + button to add a printer.
- Select the LaserJet Pro 100 from the list of available printers.
- If macOS doesn’t automatically select the correct driver, you can choose the appropriate driver from the list (e.g., HP LaserJet).
These drivers should work for basic printing, but you may lack advanced features such as scanning or advanced print settings.
Use AirPrint (for Basic Printing)
AirPrint is a built-in feature on most HP printers and allows for wireless printing from macOS. If you don’t need advanced features like scanning or faxing, you can use AirPrint:
- In Printers & Scanners, click the + button to add the printer.
- If your printer supports AirPrint, it should appear in the list.
- Select it, and AirPrint will handle the driver automatically.
Try Reinstalling via HP Smart App
While you’ve had trouble with HP Easy Start, you can try installing through the HP Smart app from the Mac App Store. This is a new approach that can sometimes resolve issues Easy Start might not handle.
If none of these options work and you're still getting errors, it could be a compatibility issue with macOS 15.1, especially if it's related to your Mac Mini’s M4 chip.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I do not see full drivers posted on HP support website. See below screenshot - you only publish HP Easy Start and HP Easy Admin tools. Both of these attempt to download drivers over the Internet, which fails.
Where exactly am I supposed to download full drivers?
