Hello,

I’m experiencing a printing issue with the HP LaserJet Pro 4003dw when using the V4 driver. After sending a print job, the printer outputs dozens of pages, each containing a single line of random or garbled characters. It seems like the print data might be getting interpreted as plain text or incorrectly processed.

Here are the details of my setup and what I’ve tested:

  • Printer model: HP LaserJet Pro 4003dw
  • PC OS: Windows 11 23H2
  • Connection type: Network (LAN)
  • Driver used (with issue):
    HP LaserJet Pro 4001 4002 4003 4004 PCL-6 V4 Printer Driver (no installer)
  • Driver used (no issue):
    HP LaserJet Pro 4001 4002 4003 4004 PCL-6 V3 Printer Driver (no installer)

When using the V3 driver, the issue does not occur, and printing works as expected. Based on this, I suspect the problem lies with the V4 driver.

From what I understand, V3 and V4 drivers handle print processing differently. Could this be a known or common issue with V4 drivers on this printer model? What might be the underlying cause of this behavior?

Any insights or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
