Printer and scanner was working fine after something changed. I don't know what changed, but HP Smart app could no longer find my Laserjet Pro M1212nf MFP printer connected via USB. I can print as usual, which is why I don't understand HP Smart could not find my printer. I can scan through the flatbed or feeder using Windows Scan app. I can find the printer in HP Smart if I connect the printer to the network, but it won't scan as it says HP Smart could not scan. Again, I can scan with Windows Scan. Also HP Twain M1210 MFP I can scan. Just the HP Smart that cannot. I tried HP Scan and Capture, same thing.
I have installed, uninstalled Full software drivers - I know it's not the drivers as I can print and scan. just not with the HP Smart app.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled HP Smart. Hidden printer, added the printer. Both connected via USB and network. HP Smart app scanning still does not work.
I've checked printer properties into the ports, tried WSD, Standard TCP/IP ports, Advanced TCP/IP Ports, USB port. All seems to be fine. Just the HP Smart app scan refuse to work now. If I only connect the printer via USB port, HP Smart app cannot add the printer, but the printer is there as I can print. So I don't know

Personally I would forget the smart app and go with the full desktop software install available from support.hp.com

That is exactly what I installed for the printer drivers but it still did not resolve my issue with HP Smart. The reason I wanted the HP Smart is the Scan. It allows me to scan and name the scan before saving. With Windows Scan, it automatically saves the scan, so I had to go to that scan, then rename it. The HP Smart scan just saves me time.
The other thing is, it used to work. Just something changed, I don't know what and then it stopped working.
