macOS 12.0 Monterey

Recently switched from a Microsoft computer to MAC for our office, and the HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf Multifunction Printer we've had for years always worked with no problem. However, upon trying to install the software driver for the Mac, this dialogue comes up and doesn't go any further,

making it impossible to actually use this printer on our new computer even though it works perfectly fine. It looks like the last time they updated the driver was in October '21. The Mac I'm using now is version 12.3, does HP just need to update their drivers to make their printer work with our new computer or is it something on my end? Please help.

@locustpoof, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I see that you are not able to install the printer on the Mac.

Uninstall the HP printer driver installed

Refer to this document to know how to uninstall the driver.

Check for any software updates on Mac

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

Now, click here to download the printer driver. Try printing.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

Ok, I'm not sure if it was clear in my post but the driver didn't install at all onto my computer. It's brand new and only gave me that popup when I TRIED to install it, thus the document you sent to uninstall wasn't necessary as there's no HP folder on my computer in applications.

The Mac is brand new, and currently updated with the latest software.

I downloaded the driver you sent and it gives me the same popup:

It is saying it wants an earlier version of the MacOS. I think it is the drivers that need to be updated....
