Welcome to the HP Community --
From the little I know about LaserJet Pro printers,
I think it's really not "that kind" of a printer.
These are primarily document printers -- lots and lots of documents.
Photos on photo paper, not-so-much.
I would guess none of this is news to you.
Might work but it is not clear that this is the right printer for the job...
The best option might be to print the 5x7 inch photo on supported paper either in the corner or right in the middle of that paper (glossy Index paper?) - Cut the photo out from the paper. That's probably easier and you must only then get the right size / weight paper into the right tray. Use your application or printer software to print as you would any other image file. Can't even do that? Place your image into a document and print that.
Take a look -- use what you already know about your printer and add the specs and possible ways you might make this work...
First, the ever essential user manual -- read about paper and trays...
5x7 inch paper is apparently supported as a Custom Size.
Media sizes, custom (metric) | 76 x 127 to 216 x 356 mm |
Reminder
Edge-to-edge copying
The printer cannot print fully edge-to-edge. There is a 4 mm (1/6 inch) unprintable border around the page.
What I cannot find is a definitive description of the "photo" paper that is mentioned just one time.
Media types | Paper (bond, brochure, coloured, glossy, heavy, letterhead, light, photo, plain, preprinted, prepunched, recycled, rough), transparencies, labels, envelopes, cardstock |
It would have to be very "light-weight" photo paper -- the printer won't handle anything beyond what is stated for the weight class limitations. Maybe "glossy Index paper" (if there is such a thing).
Perhaps one sheet in Tray 1 ?
Media Weights Supported, By Paper Path (metric) | 60 to 163 g/m² (Uncoated/Matte, recommended), however up to 175 g/m² Postcards and 200 g/m² HP Matte is allowed in the driver; 60 to 163 g/m² (Coated/Glossy, recommended), however up to 175 g/m² Postcards and 220 g/m² HP Glossy is allowed in the driver. |
