Hello everyone,
Today, the M477fdw stopped printing. The printer UI can still be reached through using the IPv4 IP address and from there test pages can be printed. I tried re-connecting it to the WiFi, re-starting all network hardware, connecting it to a switch with a LAN cable and ultimately, I uninstalled all related HP software packages and drivers. Reinstalling everything did not do the trick. I kept receiving the error message in the Printers & Scanners dialog that the driver was not available. Initially, I downloaded the newest software package from HP Support and installed it. Then I tried using an older driver package version that had previously worked. Neither attempt worked out. I then uninstalled everything again and let the HP Printer and Scanner Doctor do the installation. The installation appeared to go well but then the test page would not print again despite manual restarting of the print job. Re-running the HP Printer and Scanner Doctor did not yield any more results aside from a software issue that was supposed to be causing this without any further details.
Following that, I tried the solutions described in these two articles:
https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/Driver-Unavailable/m-p/6819842
Neither solution helped and I still cannot print. Now I am out of ideas.
These are the conflicting status reports I get:
HP CLJM477 Scan also cannot connect to the printer.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
JP
